Mattress Tips · By Michael Anello, Owner · October 13, 2026

“There was NO WAY I could’ve spent another night on the old one!!”

That’s from a Google review a customer left in February 2024. He came into the showroom after a night of no sleep, picked a mattress, and had it delivered that same day.

The answer: yes, you can usually get a mattress delivered the same day from a local store, as long as three things line up. The bed you want has to be in stock in your size, you have to buy early enough for that day’s deliveries, and your house has to be within the store’s normal delivery distance.

In Oviedo and the towns around it, that’s how same-day mattress delivery in Oviedo works at our store, and the old mattress can leave on the same trip. Ordering a bed-in-a-box online is usually slower. Casper’s delivery page, for example, quotes 2 to 8 business days for in-stock beds.

The three things that decide whether it’s tonight

1. The bed has to be in the building

Stock decides it first. When the exact mattress, in your size, is here, same-day is on the table. A bed that has to ship from the manufacturer can’t come today, no matter how nicely you ask. So before you fall for a bed on the floor, ask the one question that matters: “Is this one here, in a queen?” (or whatever size you need).

2. You buy early enough in the day

Deliveries here fit around the showroom and around the other stops already booked, so a day can fill up. There’s no posted cutoff time; it depends on how many deliveries are on the schedule and how far apart they are. The earlier in the day you buy, the better your odds. If you really need the bed that day, we don’t mind going out of our way to add you to the delivery list, as long as it’s a reasonable hour. It’s a lot easier if you buy before closing time.

Our posted showroom hours are short: Monday through Thursday 3 to 5, Friday 9 to 4:30, Saturday 11 to 5. Need a bed today? Call or text 407-349-7053 before you drive over. Appointments outside those hours are available. A stop that includes an adjustable base, or taking an old frame apart, takes longer, so mention it when you buy.

3. You live within delivery distance

Our usual delivery distance covers Oviedo, Winter Springs (about 10 minutes away), Casselberry (about 15 minutes up Red Bug Lake Road), Sanford (about 20 minutes north) and East Orlando. Farther than that, call before you buy and we’ll tell you if it can work.

What 80 of our Google reviews say about same-day delivery

We went back through our 80 most recent Google reviews, which run from August 2023 to October 2026. Eighteen of them mention delivery, and seven of those eighteen describe a same-day delivery.

18of 80 reviews mention delivery
7describe a same-day delivery
1says it came the next day
3picked up their order themselves

Reviews only count the customers who chose to mention it. Three of them:

“Mike was kind enough to deliver the same day, on a Saturday evening, whereas delivery by other stores would have been late the next week, if not later.”

Thomas Munk · November 2025

“Mike also delivered her mattress & pillow that evening. He went above and beyond by removing her old mattress and then put the linens on her new mattress for her.”

Cindy Blackwood · May 2025

“We also purchased an adjustable bed frame that Mike delivered same day and installed it for us.”

Lucia Kennedy · September 2025

The reason it happens is that we sell the bed and deliver it ourselves, in our own truck. There’s no third-party carrier with its own calendar between the sale and your bedroom, so if the bed is here and the route has room, it can go out the same day.

Same-day delivery, pickup or ordering online: which is fastest?

If you can haul it, pickup is fastest. If you can’t, same-day delivery is.

Picking up is real, too. A customer wrote in May 2026 that he “Picked up a mattress and frame today,” and two other reviewers mention picking up their order themselves. A boxed mattress fits in most SUVs. A flat queen or king does not, so measure your cargo space before you promise anyone you’ll have it home by dinner.

Can you sleep on a new mattress the night it arrives?

Usually, yes. A mattress that comes flat, the traditional way, is ready the moment it’s on the frame. A bed that arrives compressed in a box needs time to recover its full height, and the manufacturers don’t all say the same thing about the first night.

DreamCloud says its mattresses take up to 72 hours to fully expand, and that there’s no harm in sleeping on one right away, though it’s better to wait. Puffy’s own guide says most manufacturers recommend 24 to 72 hours of expansion time and suggests holding off. Puffy’s guide adds the practical part: unbox it promptly, because the longer foam stays compressed, the longer it takes to recover. DreamCloud adds that putting sheets on right away slows the expansion.

So if you’re buying for tonight, check which kind your bed is. Here, Puffy, DreamCloud and Malouf mattresses come compressed and roll-packed in a box, while Jamison and WinkBed come flat. If it ships compressed, have it unboxed by mid-afternoon and leave the sheets off until bedtime. You can sleep on it tonight. It just won’t be at full height until the foam finishes recovering.

Before the truck shows up

Four things save the most time on a same-day stop.

  1. A clear path. Walk the route from the front door to the bedroom. Tight stairwell turns and narrow hallways are where a king slows down. Stairs? Tell us when you buy.
  2. The old bed stripped. Pull the sheets and the protector off and decide whether the old mattress is leaving with us. If it isn’t, here are the other ways to get rid of an old mattress in Seminole County.
  3. A frame that fits the new bed. Foam and hybrid beds need solid support or slats close together. If your current frame is sagging or has wide gaps between slats, say so in the showroom so the right base goes on the truck.
  4. Payment sorted. Financing? Apply while you’re in the showroom so approval doesn’t hold up the delivery. The details are on our financing page.

A few more questions

Where can I buy a mattress same day near Oviedo?

Any store that keeps beds in stock and runs its own deliveries can do it. Mattress Direct Oviedo is at 950 N Central Ave #1 and delivers same-day across Oviedo, Winter Springs, Casselberry, Sanford and East Orlando when the bed is here and the schedule allows. Our Orlando-area page covers the delivery area in more detail.

Will you take my old mattress on a same-day delivery?

Yes. Old-mattress removal is part of our White Glove delivery, along with setup. There’s a delivery and disposal fee based on the distance and the scope of the job. Mention it when you buy so there’s room on the truck.

What if same-day doesn’t work out?

Next-day delivery is the next option. One customer wrote that they called the day after visiting, ordered, and had the bed delivered the following day.

Do you deliver on Saturdays?

It has happened. One reviewer bought on a Saturday and had the bed delivered that evening. Call 407-349-7053 early in the day to check what Saturday’s schedule looks like.
